Blackberry Gin Fizz

blackberry gin cocktail with mint garnish

What are your plans for this second weekend in March?  That just doesn't sound quite right...March already!  Luke has his first baseball game and my little sis is flying in from Baltimore for a quick visit.  I'll host brunch for her on Sunday and hope to get some DIY projects done around the house too.  A little painting, an IKEA hack and some new furniture arrangement in the boys rooms.  Jett is climbing out of his crib (very skillfully) and needs to transition to a big boy bed like yesterday.  Last night I threw together this marvelous cocktail with some frozen blackberries I had on hand.  I dreamt of warmer weather while I sipped it.  Who else is ready to spring forward this weekend?  I know I am.

***** Blackberry Gin Fizz *****

// Ingredients //

1 oz gin
6-7 frozen blackberries
2 oz. tonic
1 tsp. lime juice

// Instructions //

In an empty rocks glass, muddle frozen blackberries. Then fill the glass with ice.  Add gin, tonic and lime juice.  Stir and garnish with fresh mint sprigs.

  3. This looks delicious and might be a good way for me to ease into gin. I'm still an amateur - embarrassing, I know!

  4. @Luci SO funny that you mention that because I was sipping it last night and thought the same thing. I highly recommend this drink if you want to experiment with gin or are a new gin drinker. Cheers!
