Life at its Finest

Just a few snapshots of my trip to north Georgia last weekend.  My husband and I slipped away with some friends for a few days to celebrate his birthday.  While we missed the kiddos, we certainly indulged in some good food and the great outdoors.

My friend made this AH-mazing french toast, courtesy of Pioneer Woman.  It was even better leftover.

Sipped some coffee on a chilly morning while staying warm under a big fuzzy blanket.

I made my favorite brussels sprout tart which makes a great appetizer or side dish.

I had previously skimmed this book  and finally got time to sit down and begin to really read it.  It gives some great insight to the mind of boys and what makes them tick, God love 'em.

Hiked this trail and enjoyed this stunning view and relaxing waterfall.

Another dish made by my friend....Stuffed acorn squash that was to die for!  Great combination of flavor and healthy too.  Unfortunately i have no idea where her recipe came from but will do my best to find out.

The view from the top... I love you Georgia.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  1. What gorgeous scenery - this is why I love fall. I really like that quote about boys as well. As the mother of a 5-year old boy, no truer words have been uttered. :)
