Life at its Finest

Does anyone remember Captain and Tenille?  I didn't either until my older sister reminded me.  Our kids, who had obviously "dressed themselves" were goofing off outside the Mexican restaurant when my sister commented on their uncanny resemblance to the old 70's duo.  Remember this song?

We had shrimp and grits this week and I threw in some greens and tomatoes just for good measure.  Here's a great shrimp and grits recipe to try if you've never made them before or you're looking for something new.

Has anyone else tried this experiment going around on Pinterest?  You put cut green onions in water and immediately they begin to grow back.  It works right away!  I'll keep you posted on the progress.  If you want to follow my "Just Food" board on Pinterest, you can find me here.  I admit, it's probably one of my most active boards.

Jett entertaining himself during Luke's baseball practice.  Sometimes I wonder how far he'd run if I just let him go.  He's such a free spirit and I love it.

I put this after school snack together for Luke and he ate all of it, including the raspberry which he normally won't touch.  It always amazes me what kids will eat or try when it's presented in an interesting way.

Hope y'all have a great weekend!

  3. My mom taught me green onion trick right before I left for college five years ago and I hardly ever buy it anymore! The trick also works for basil! Plus it makes the room smell so nice!!
