Happy Thursday fellow peaches! I hope you enjoyed our little jaunt to Graceland yesterday. After that trip, I've decided I must own a pair of blue suede shoes. Sooner rather than later.
For those of us who resolved to eat healthier in 2012, here's an alternative to the decadent pie I posted earlier in the week. I nicknamed this smoothie, "The Elvis" and it's so good that I actually made two batches in one day for the boys and I. We put them away like it was our job.
Talk about being "all shook up!" Sorry, I couldn't resist.
Serve with a side of bacon if you really want to "take care of business." Sorry again. I'll stop now.
Here's the recipe... (adapted from here)
Serves 4
Ingredients:
3 bananas
1/4 ground steel cut oats ( I grind mine in my coffee bean grinder)
1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup milk
dash of cinnamon
1 cup ice
Blend ingredients to a smooth consistency. Garnish and serve immediately.
This looks so delicious! I can't wait to try it. What a lovely site. I'll be back for sure!

YUM. your photos look gorgeous, amy!
ReplyDeleteFirst of all YUM! I must try this! And second, your photos look great!!
ReplyDeletemy husband has been making (a less healthier) version of this on the weekends. his ends up more like a milkshake, which he likes to call a smoothie.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so good! And pretty pictures, too! :)
ReplyDeleteThat sounds great! I like to add frozen berries and ti taste like a PB&J. A little flax seed thrown in is great too!
ReplyDeleteow WOW that looks amazing. definitely going in my recipe book! :)
ReplyDeleteJust made this and didn't put in the oats since it was nighttime. It was nice and light, probably would add some berries or cocoa powder next time to get a different flavor. Maybe even substitute the peanut butter with Chocolate PB2 to gt a Chocolate Banana Smoothie.
ReplyDeleteThanks again!
