Let Go

found

Hello dear friends!  How are you today?  I'm embracing this week with an open heart after wasting half of a weekend being a bit down on life.  Do you ever get that way?

I admit I rarely feel angry with life but after watching two dear friends recently lose their mothers to cancer and allowing another few close people in my life ruffle my feathers for various reasons, I had just had enough.  I regretfully took out my frustrations on those closest to me, my husband and kids of course.  I spent most of Saturday just acting a fool and being a complete grump.

Later that night, I said some prayers, went to bed early and woke up Sunday morning with a clear heart.  I decided to let it all go.  On our ride to church that morning, I apologized to my family and asked them to forgive me for my terrible behavior the previous day.  I explained to my older son that even mommies have bad days and how easily his sweet little heart embraced my apology.  If only we could all forgive and forget so easily!

Do you have something you need to let go of?  Or, more importantly, do you have someone you need to forgive?

It's not easy.  But it feels so good.

  3. That is really sweet about your son. I love how easily kids are to forgive and forget. I think we all can learn so much from their attitudes.

  4. I had this thanks to a lot of work stress. The weekend was ups and downs, but today I was determined to put myself back on track today and ended up having a nice Monday!

  8. I know the feeling. There are times when I feel like I'm alone, helpless and nobody seems to care. But that awful feeling often disappears after a change in perspective and focusing on the bright side.

  9. It's funny that I'm reading this now even though you wrote it at the beginning of this week...b/c I had one of those weeks were everything seemed off. Car in shop to the tune of $1k, sad news about other's health, etc. I've been grouchy and not right all week. So I really appreciated this timely post. I'm sorry about your grouchiness but I bet you're feeling much better now. Good thing Thanksgiving is around the corner to focus on the good things we're appreciative for. xoxo
