Vacation

Our beach trip last week flew by and to call it a vacation is almost comical.  With two little ones, we hardly had time to sit still for a moment.  We spent our days hopping between the beach and the pool, followed by dinner at home.  We're at the point in our lives where dining out in the evening after a long day of sand and surf is just asking for trouble.  We cooked some of our favorite beach dinners like this and this and dined al fresco with ocean views.  What else do you need other than someone to do the dishes?

We couldn't resist another trip here and also took a sunset cruise against our better judgement.  Last year, the baby did fine but this year, as we suspected, he did not enjoy the ride.  Not one bit.  Can you tell by this picture?

Yes, meltdowns happen.  It's part of "vacationing" with children.  Don't you love the look on Luke's face too?  I think he was a little weirded out by the strange (but probably very nice) man who offered to take our picture.  Thank goodness for the gorgeous sunset at the end.

But my favorite part of the trip was watching the boys play with each other and capturing them in their natural element which is covered in sand from head to toe.  Jett wants to do everything Luke does and nothing keeps him from trying to keep up with his big brother!

Another nice person offered to take our picture one evening on the beach after dinner.  Clearly by my hair I was not planning to be photographed but I'm happy we have the picture together to remember our "vacation."

Hope you had a lovely weekend fellow peaches and thanks for saying hello!

  3. Good gracious, it ought to be illegal to be that cute! Y'all are such a beautiful family. So glad you had a great, albeit exhausting, vacation!

Btw, when i was in high school i babysat a lot for extra $$. Every summer 1 family took me to the beach with them. It was a pretty sweet agreement-they didn't pay me, other than a free week at the beach (holla!) and food. I was extra help for the parents & they got to go out 3-4 nights of the week, plus the Dad could play golf, etc. And 1 night of the week they did a family night & i got to hang out on my own. Pretty sweet deal all around. Just food for thought ;)
