North Pole Cupcakes

How many of you have adopted "pinning" as a new past time?  I admit, I'm slightly addicted and have wasted a lot of time perusing the perfect world of Pinterest.  A mere word of caution to those of you who may be new to Pinterest.  You may come to a startling realization that you are not at all as crafty or talented as you thought you once were.  That being said, it is a great place for ideas and inspiration which I love!  Feel free to follow my pins or send me a note.

Anyhow, I made these cupcakes for Luke's class party yesterday and I give full credit to Pinterest for the creative genius behind these adorable creations, which you can find here.  (Unfortunately, I do not know the original source of the creation. )  Can I tell you I searched high and low for the soft peppermint sticks by King Leo and I could not find them anywhere!!!  I finally settled for the classic hard cane which I broke off into a stick form.

In other school news, I put together these small naughty/nice goodie bags for the boy's teachers with the stipulation that any monies won via the lottery ticket be gifted back to me by 20%.  Just kidding.  I just wanted to do something a little extra from the class gift which is usually a gift card of some type.

I still have to grocery shop, wrap gifts, clean house, set the tables and give my father-in-law the annual tour of my kitchen since he will be cooking for us on Christmas Day.  He likes to know where everything is at...he's a planner and I like that about him...a lot.

I really had the best intentions of winding down early before the holidays but it seems there is always something to be done.  Remind me in June of 2012 to begin my Christmas planning.

  2. They look wonderful. Oh and I don't know what kind they are but if you have a Fresh Market near you they sell the soft ones in bulk. I have bought some to put in my hot chocolate.

  3. Thank you so much for that tip Ruth! We do in fact have a Fresh Market nearby. I'll be sure to check there next year as I'm sure I'll make them again.

    TIffany, it's a deal! :)
