50th Anniversary ~ Breakfast at Tiffany's ~

This year, we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the beloved film, "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and I know many of you love this film just as much as I do! It offers romance, wit, humor, style and of course it's fun-loving main character, Holly Golightly, a free spirit who refuses to settle for anything less than perfection.  It's hard not to relate to her on some level.  Plus, who doesn't love a lady who drinks milk from a wine glass?

The other thing this movie gives us is fashion.  Oh the fashion! I think I could watch this film on mute and still enjoy it.  The classic "little black dress" was born from this film and the leading lady Audrey Hepburn will forever be loved and remembered as a style icon.

Tonight I'm sneaking off to a showing of the film at a local and uber-stylish historical theater.  There's nothing like seeing this on the big screen.  Maybe I'll see some of you there!

So, of course now I have the dilemma of what to wear.....

Wouldn't it be nice to slip into one of these?  An ode to the little black dress...

Have a lovely weekend fellow peaches!

  1. Oh SP! This is great. Get to the corner store and pick up the Jan/Feb issue of Southern Lady Magazine. There is an article in there for a Breakfast at Tiffany's themed breakfast complete with recipes and place setting ideas as well as outfits! I cut out the resipes and shoved them in my Grandma's old cookbook. Cant wait to try it!
